Before participating in the Midwest Taijiquan Open Peaceful Challenge (MTOPC), organized by Wisconsin Tai Chi Academy, I hereby confirm that I have fully read this agreement and voluntarily agree to the following terms:
I understand that martial arts, Taiji, and related athletic activities involve inherent risks, including but not limited to sprains, strains, fractures, collisions, falls, accidental contact, risks associated with equipment or venue conditions, and exposure to infectious diseases (such as influenza or COVID-19). I voluntarily assume all known and unknown risks associated with participation.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I agree to release and waive any liability claims against the Midwest Taijiquan Open Peaceful Challenge (MTOPOC), Wisconsin Tai Chi Academy (WTCA), the organizers, judges, staff, volunteers,hosting and partnering organizations, and the owners and managers of the venue, including any injuries, illnesses, accidents, property loss, or life-threatening incidents that may occur as a result of my participation.
I confirm that my physical condition is suitable for participation; in the event of an emergency, I authorize the organizers to provide or arrange necessary medical treatment, and I accept full responsibility for all related medical costs. I understand that the organizers are not responsible for the loss, theft, or damage of personal belongings.
I agree to comply with all competition rules, including the Competition Regulations, Scoring Methods, safety guidelines, and the instructions of judges, staff and volunteers. I understand that violation of the rules may result in disqualification, and registration fees will not be refunded.
All evaluations, scoring, rankings and awards (including Grand Champion Awards) are independently determined by the panel of judges appointed by the organizers in accordance with established rules. Any dispute regarding judging results must be submitted to the Appeals Judge in accordance with established processes. The final ruling issued by the Appeals Judge is conclusive and binding; no appeals, disputes, or requests for modification beyond the scope of arbitration will be accepted. If I do not agree with these terms, I will not participate in the competition; if I have already registered, it will be deemed a voluntary withdrawal, and registration fees are non-refundable.
I authorize the organizers and their officially appointed agents to use my images, photographs, and audio/video recordings taken during the event for promotional, publicity, media, and other lawful purposes without additional compensation. I understand thatonce registration closes, all registration fees are non-refundable unless required by law or otherwise specified by the organizers.
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, USA. Any disputes shall fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Wisconsin.
