I Love This Journey
I originally was looking for something to help with my balance, and I have gotten so much more. Ray the instructor brings joy to the students. His teaching style encourages each of us to keep doing better. I love this journey, and see myself doing it for a long time. I especially appreciate how Ray shares the history of each movement, the martial art of the movement and the benefit to the individual.
Loving having Ray teach at Midwest Shorin Ryu Health & Wellness
Loving having Ray teach at Midwest Shorin Ryu Health & Wellness in Franklin. I’m gaining a lot that is useful in my karate journey through my exposure to Tai Chi. Thanks!

[Ray was] engaging, made the exercises fun, yet the experience was relaxing, and everyone overall had a phenomenal time.

Did such a great job
Ray and Amber were great to work with! Amber was able to come to our women's day event to host an hour intro course to Tai Chi and Chi Gong. She did such a great job that one of the individuals that attended the class bought a DVD to do it at home.

An Outstanding Entry Point Into the Art of Tai Chi
Ray Gates’ Wisconsin Tai Chi Academy is an outstanding entry point into the art of Tai Chi. Ray brings a vast depth of knowledge of martial arts generally and Tai Chi specifically to his students. He has a very interactive teaching style and each class is designed to bring students along at an easily digestible pace. The Academy offers a variety of learning tools as supplements to in-class learning such as instructional videos and on-line forums that create a broad learning environment. If you’re looking for an intellectually and physically stimulating approach to health improvement, this is it!
Becoming a Great Tai Chi Practitioner
Having been a martial artist most of my adult life I have had the pleasure of learning different styles from different instructors. What I have learned along the way is a good tai chi instructor will teach you the moves a great tai chi instructor will also teach you HOW to move. Ray is not only a great instructor but he is exceptionally good at detailing what you need to learn to become a great tai chi practitioner.

Learning the Application Helps With Understanding the Form
I really enjoyed learning how the movements in the form has so many different applications. And in turn learning the application helps with understanding the form. Learning the martial applications helps in the refinement of the form itself. This was a great workshop.
